Bayonne Bridge to be closed 8 weekends in 2014, officials say | NJ.com: "The Bayonne Bridge will be closed eight entire weekends this year as part of the project to raise the to 215 feet to allow larger ships to pass, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced.

The dates for the weekend closures will be announced in advance, officials said. There will be no weekend closures on Saturday and Sunday overnights in the summer or on holiday weekends."

Juliette Street: Beginning Monday, January 6, the part of the roadway under the Bayonne Bridge will be closed. Vehicles can enter from Kennedy Boulevard and Avenue A for local access only. No through traffic will be allowed. Duration: Three weeks

4th Street: Beginning Monday, December 30, the portion of the roadway under the Bayonne Bridge will be closed. Vehicles can enter from Kennedy Boulevard and Avenue A for local access only. No through traffic will be allowed. Duration: Three weeks

3rd Street: Beginning Monday, December 30 the southern sidewalk and a portion of the street will be closed between Kennedy Boulevard and Avenue A. Traffic will be pushed to the north side of this section of 3rd Street. Duration: Two Years. In addition, the part of the roadway under the Bayonne Bridge will be closed. Vehicles can enter from Kennedy Boulevard and Avenue A for local access only. No through traffic will be allowed. Duration: Two Weeks

Bayonne Bridge to close overnights in Jan., Feb. - WSJ.com: "BAYONNE, N.J. — Motorists traveling between New Jersey and Staten Island will soon feel the effects of a major construction project on the Bayonne Bridge.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is reminding travelers that the bridge will be closed overnight on weekdays beginning January 6 through February.

The closures are for a $1.2 billion project to raise the roadway to give larger ships access to New York and New Jersey ports.

The bridge will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and from midnight Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. It will remain open on Saturday and Sunday nights and on holiday weekends.

The new bridge roadway will have wider lanes, a median and a bike and pedestrian path."

Bayonne Bridge to Have “Hold and Pull” Daytime Traffic December 19-20 | The City of Bayonne, NJ: "The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has advised the City of Bayonne that the Bayonne Bridge will have a “hold and pull” traffic operation on Thursday, December 19, and Friday, December 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both days. “Hold and pull” means that the Port Authority will stop traffic in each direction for fifteen minutes. The Port Authority is using this alternating traffic pattern for those two days, in order to install delineators, which were knocked out. Delineators are rubber devices that separate traffic into lanes."

The plan, approved by the Army Corps and the U.S. Coast Guard, will raise the bridge from 151 feet to 215 feet, high enough to allow Post-Panamax ships to get through to the Port of New York and New Jersey."
