The State Might Turn the Tappan Zee Bridge Into a Pedestrian Walkway -- Daily Intel: "What once was a pipe dream is now looking like an actual possibility: When the state builds a new bridge to replace the Tappan Zee, they might turn the current bridge into a walkway a little something like the High Line, only over water. It's expensive to demolish the thing — $150 million — so updating the bridge's function is looking more and more attractive to Governor Andrew Cuomo. Or, at least, it merits "further study," which is bureacrat-ese for attractive."
