An interactive look at future Staten Island developments

SILive.com"The $1.3 billion "Raise the Roadway" project, which seeks to raise the Bayonne Bridge 64 feet — from 151 feet to 215 feet above the Kill van Kull — should be fully complete by the second quarter of 2017. Currently the span has the lowest navigational clearance of any bridge in the area and one of the lowest in the country. When it's finished, the bridge will have four 12-foot wide lanes — two in each direction – a 12-foot wide pedestrian/biking path, nearly 5-foot wide shoulders on each side and the option to run light rail across in the future. The elevated Jersey-bound lanes should be complete some time in 2016, at which point they’ll open to traffic, but the entire span, with a new roadway, medians and walkway won't be done until the second quarter of 2017."
