Late hours at DCs may be key to resolving NY-NJ port congestion

JOC.com: "That is why, as the port prepares itself to handle even larger ships that will arrive following the expansion of the Panama Canal, the raising of the Bayonne Bridge, and completion of the port’s 50-foot deepening project, attention is turning to the region’s hundreds of distribution centers as a potential relief valve.  

“What we need to do in the future is find supply chain solutions, not just port solutions, John Nardi, president of the New York Shipping Association told the Port Industry Day. “If the warehouse isn’t opened the port gets blamed, so this is something we collectively need to work on.”"
